Malawi’s second largest city and commercial capital, Blantyre was founded in the latter half of the 19th century (pre-dating Nairobi and Johannesburg), and takes its name from the town in south Lanarkshire where David Livingstone was born.

Ryalls Hotel
Ryalls is a four-star hotel originally built in the 1920s by an Englishwoman to cater for travellers on the Cape to Cairo route. It was the most famous hotel in Blantyre for many years and still retains its historic importance in the city.

Saw 172 cats, 20 cheetah, 3 leopard, 2 serval and 147 lion. Took 1300 photos-they will take some sorting out!
