Ngorongoro, Mahale, Selous and Zanzibar

10-day luxury Tanzania safari visiting Ngorongoro Crater, Mahale Mountains National Park, Selous Game Reserve, and the spice island of Zanzibar. This programme can be extended to 14 days to include the Serengeti. NB. Availability in Mahale is limited and seasonal - please contact our office for current rates and availability.

Outline Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Arusha to Ngorongoro

    You will be collected from Kilimanjaro Airport, or from your hotel in Arusha, early this morning and set off east, across the Great Rift Valley and into the Ngorongoro Highlands, with picnic lunch en-route.

  2. Day 2-5: Greystoke Mahale (4 nights)

    After an early breakfast at Plantation Lodge, transfer to Manyara airstrip for your charter flight to Mahale. From the landing strip, it’s a short transfer to the lake, where a dhow boat will be waiting to transfer you to Greystoke Mahale Camp(approx. 1.5 hours), with a delicious picnic lunch served onboard.

  3. Day 6-7: Sand River Safari Camp, Selous Game Reserve (2 nights)

    After an early breakfast, transfer by dhow boat to the airstrip for your charter flight to Selous. On arrival, you will be met by your driver and transferred to Sand Rivers Safari Camp.

  4. Day 8-9: Kisiwa House, Zanzibar (2 nights)

    Morning at Sand Rivers with early lunch (or picnic lunch) before transferring to the airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival in Stone Town, meet with your driver and transfer to Kisiwa House, near the harbour area, where you stay two nights.

  5. Day 10: Departure

    You will be collected by your driver after breakfast and transferred to the airport for your flight to Nairobi/Arusha, and connecting flight home.
