Xandari Resort

Xandari is a super stylish hotel set within 40 acres of tropical gardens above the Central Valley. The gardens are perfect for walking, with over 4kms of trails.

Xandari was designed by Californian architect Sherrill Broudy and his wife Charlene Broudy, whose fabulous wall hangings adorn the corridors. Each room is individually designed, making great use of colourful Costa Rican textiles. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light into every corner. Furniture is made locally from recycled wood, making each piece unique. The open-air terrace restaurant serves delicious organic food from the hotel gardens. There is also an indoor restaurant for chilly evenings and a comfy lounge.

Accommodation

There are 24 ensuite villas in 5 categories, which range from Prima (the standard category) to Ultra Plus. All rooms come with king-size (or twin) beds, armchairs, writing desks, and a balcony with views of the valley, while the Ultra Plus units feature bathtubs and private courtyard gardens. There is also a 2 bedroomed villa which can sleep 6.

Dining

Meals are typically served in the open-air terrace restaurant, with fabulous views over San Jose. The menus are a mix of local and international cuisine, and utilise fresh produce from Xandari’s gardens.
