Villa Santi

Luang Prabang, Laos

Villa Santi

Villa Santi is a 19th-century French-colonial auberge situated on Sakkaline Street, the main thoroughfare that runs through the heart of Luang Prabang’s old quarter. It has 20 rooms and a restaurant with a view of the town.

The delightful Villa Santi has long been a favourite on the Luang Prabang hotel scene. It occupies an enviable location on Sakkaline Street, close to the heart of Old Luang Prabang and a short stroll from the night market. A charming boutique hotel, Villa Santi combines European design with traditional Laotian features and is set in lush tropical gardens.

Villa Santi is the sister property to the newer Santi Resort & Spa, a large 67-room hotel located on the outskirts of Luang Prabang. Guests at Villa Santi can use the pool and spa at Santi Resort & Spa, but the distance between the two means that this isn’t entirely convenient. Villa Santi does not have its own pool and spa (though many write-ups, mixing up the two hotels, will tell you that it does!)

Accommodation

Villa Santi’s 20 rooms are divided between deluxe category rooms and suites. All have wooden floors and are furnished with teak or rosewood furniture and locally-made silk. They are generously sized and feature full en-suite facilities including separate bath and shower. Other amenities include AC, satellite television, Wi-Fi, room safe and tea/coffee facilities. The suites are more spacious than the standard rooms and have a separate sitting area. The amenities are the same in all rooms.

Dining

Villa Santi’s Princess Restaurant, one of the city’s top bistros, overlooks Sakkaline St, where the famous Pak Bet alms gathering ceremony takes place most mornings. Snacks are also available in the Elephant Garden Bar, which is lit by candles and lanterns at night.
