Villa Inle

Small and intimate, Villa Inle features just sixteen guest chalets situated among floating gardens on the eastern shores of the lake. It boasts perhaps the largest and most beautiful rooms on Inle Lake

Villa Inle is a lovely resort. It is one of the smallest and most intimate resorts on Inle Lake, with just 16 guest chalets, and enjoys a marvellous location on its eastern banks, hidden away behind a network of floating gardens tended to by the local Intha people.

Though Villa Inle accommodates only a small number of guests, its grounds are vast, covering 20 acres and sustaining a collection of tropical fruit trees from which you can pick your own organic fruit. The décor is stylish but in keeping with the setting, featuring local Intha furnishings and artwork.

Accommodation

Villa Inle’s raised villas blend into the verdant vegetation on the eastern edge of the lake. They enjoy impressive views across Inle’s remarkably still waters from their private terraces, which are perfectly positioned to catch the sun setting over the lake each evening.

The wooden villas are built in a traditional style with high-ceilinged interiors and large, open terraces. They are very spacious—at a guess we would say they are the largest rooms available on the Lake. They are furnished with large double beds draped in mosquito netting, and open at the back onto equally generous bathrooms, equipped with standalone bathtubs and separate showers.

All rooms feature air conditioning and heating, in-room safe and Wi-Fi (limited).

Dining

Villa Inle has a small restaurant serving a good selection of Western and local Shan and Intha cuisine, and incorporating plenty of ingredients from the organic gardens. Breakfast is a light continental buffet, while lunch and dinner are a la carte.

As with most lodges on Inle Lake, Villa Inle is quite isolated and not close to any restaurants, so you’ll be taking all of your meals at the resort except when out on activities. Allow $30 per person per meal, more with wine, which is about typical of all resorts on the lake.
