Thorntree River Lodge

Thorntree River Lodge is a comfortable, mid-range lodge situated just outside Livingstone, in the Mosi Oa Park. Small and private, it's a good option for those wanting to avoid the hustle and bustle of the town.

Thorntree River Lodge is a medium sized, mid-range lodge situated in Mosi-oa-Tunya Park, just outside Livingstone and a few miles upstream from Victoria Falls. A comfortable, well-serviced lodge, Thorntree lacks some of the character of Livingstone’s more upmarket lodges, but it’s one of the best low-cost options available in the area. It enjoys great views of the Zambezi River, and a quiet location removed from the noise of Livingstone. It’s also considerably smaller than other lodges in the same price bracket, with just nine guest rooms.

The guest facilities at Thorntree River Lodge include pool, restaurant and a bar overlooking the river.

Accommodation

Thorntree River Lodge offers just nine guest chalets, of which three are doubles and six twins. Constructed of stone and thatch, the rooms are generously sized and ideally positioned on the banks of the Zambezi River, where they nestle among the riverine vegetation. Private balconies at the front of each chalet overlook the river, as do the open-air showers. The rooms are attractively decorated, with polished floors, dark wooden furniture and canopy beds.

All rooms are en-suite, with an indoor bath and outdoor shower.

Dining

Meals are served al fresco on the outdoor dining deck overlooking the river.
