Teremok Lodge

Teremok Lodge is a very stylish boutique hotel overlooking the beach in the resort town of Umhlanga, a short drive north of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

Teremok Lodge is a stylish 5-star boutique hotel situated close to the beach in the resort town of Umhlanga, just north of Durban. Originally the holiday home of the Vladykin mining family, Teremok (in Russian, “small hideaway”) was converted into a luxury hotel in 2003. The current owner, Debbie Davidson, has done a great job of transforming the old 1960s home into an up-to-date boutique guesthouse, without sacrificing too much of its original charm.

Teremok is magnificently positioned, occupying pride of place on the prestigious Marine Drive, directly overlooking the ocean (the rooms enjoy ocean views from their balconies) and only a few minutes’ walk from the beach. Also within walking distance are the shops and restaurants of Umhlanga Village.

Just eight rooms, all individually decorated but furnished to the same high standards. The rooms are well-equipped with modern amenities including a full home entertainment system and WiFI connection. The bathrooms are open-plan and feature large showers, freestanding baths, twin basins and separate toilet and bidet.

Each room has a private balcony.

Teremok Lodge is booked on a B&B basis, and does not offer a dinner service. The breakfast menus change daily. A light buffet of fruits and cereals is always offered, along with two hot dishes, pastries and deserts.
