Shinta Mani Wild

Shinta Mani Wild

Shinta Mani Wild

This luxury eco-lodge is located deep in the Cambodian rainforest and surrounded by three wild and beautiful national parks – Cardamom, Kirirom and Bokor.

The owner, Bill Bensley, set out to create the lodge to protect the area from logging and poaching and to provide sustainable jobs for local people. It’s been hugely successful in its aims and now attracts travellers from all over the world. The design is an eccentric mix of antiques, nautical touches and stylish use of local Khmer dark polished woods. The furnishing ideas were inspired by a Cambodian jungle safari with Jackie Onassis in the sixties, adding a glamorous touch! The 15 tented rooms are built on stilts within the tree canopy and alongside the river line, spanning an area 1 mile long - some of are built over the rapids. Privacy is guaranteed.

The surrounding wilderness is rich in wildlife, including tiger, bear, gibbon and forest elephant. Tracking these animals with the lodge rangers is a wonderful experience, though note that sightings of many of the species mentioned are rare and not guaranteed.

Access to the lodge is by land, helicopter or, for the adventurous, by zip line!
