Serengeti Maswa Camp is set in the short grass plains of the southern Maswa Game Reserve, a private 250,000 acre reserve that borders the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Serengeti National Park in northern Tanzania. Though located outside of the National Park boundaries, this is an area of great scenic beauty. It is also a region rich in wildlife, offering reliably good game-viewing throughout the year, but particularly between Dec-Apr when the plains are inundated with wildebeest, returning to the southern Serengeti from the Mara in their millions to calve.
Serengeti Maswa is in many ways a classic bush camp, with six Meru-style safari tents centred on a communal mess, but it has been furnished to luxury lodge standards. Highly exclusive, it enjoys a private location on the edge of the Serengeti plains, set under the shade of acacia trees in a region with no other camps. As the camp is located outside of the National Park, guests are not bound by national park guidelines and can take part in activities that are usually prohibited, such as walking safaris and night drives. Fly camping expeditions within the Maswa Reserve are also offered at no extra cost.
With only eight tents and a private location, Serengeti Maswa Camp is often booked on an exclusive basis. The camp has its own dedicated airstrip.
Accommodation
Serengeti Maswa's Meru-style tents have been decorated in a classic safari style with large beds and opulent rugs. Cotton drapes adorn the bedrooms while velvet curtains lead to the en-suite bathrooms. Maswa is a bush camp, but an especially plush one.

Early morning tea is served in bed and your safari guide will also organize picnic breakfasts, lunches and starlit dinners, at your request. You can arrange with the chef a menu to suit your own tastes.
