Serena Beach Resort & Spa is an impressive, 150+ room resort located just outside of Mombasa on the Kenyan coast. One of the most striking of Kenya’s large beach resorts, Serena has been styled to resemble a traditional Swahili town, complete with replica market squares, Persian-themed water features, winding pathways lit by Zanzibari lanterns, and intricately carved wooden balconies. Of course it also offers all the facilities that one would expect of a large beach resort: swimming pool, spa and gym, tennis court, extensive grounds, multiple restaurants and bars.

Serena Beach Resort has a bit of character and offers all the comforts you could ask for, provided you’re happy in a large resort. Those looking for somewhere a little more exclusive and intimate, however, will do better to look at one of the many smaller lodges available on the Kenyan coast and neighbouring islands.
