Phinda Game Reserve

Phinda Private Game Reserve is a 56,000 acre concession in northern KwaZulu Natal, close to the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. It contains a rich diversity of game and scenery, as well as some of South Africa's most unique safari lodges.

Located in northern KwaZulu-Natal, between Hluhluwe Game Reserve and the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, the 56,000 acre Phinda Private Game Reserve encompasses a diversity of ecosystems – including arid bush land, sand forest and wetlands – and houses an abundance of game, such as lion, cheetah, leopard, hippo, rhino, elephant, and much more.

Activities available in the reserve include guided walking safaris, 4x4 game drives, rhino tracking, boat safaris and canoeing.

Accommodation

Phinda Game Reserve houses five beautifully-designed lodges and one private villa. All are different in character and style, but offer the same first-class service.

Phinda Forest Lodge offers 16 super-modern glass chalets in a secluded forest, while the Mountain Lodge boasts 20 air-conditioned suites with fabulous views. Vlei Lodge consists of just six stilted glass-and-thatch units situated in the dry sand forest.

But perhaps the most striking of all is Rock Lodge, which comprises six unique suites suspended from the side of a rocky cliff, each with a spacious bedroom and full en-suite facilities.

The small and intimate Zuka Lodge consists of four thatched traditional Zulu bush cottages.

Getty House is a sophisticated private villa accommodating private groups and families. It is situated in the far west of Phinda Game Reserve on its own private 8,000 acre plot of land.
