Musekese Camp

Kafue National Park, Zambia

Musekese Camp

Located in a remote portion of the vast and beautiful Kafue National Park, Musekese Camp is a simple bush camp with a stunning location

Musekese sits in an area of mature trees and overlooks expansive shallow wetlands much loved by wildlife. Nearby is a treehouse hide. The main area is shaded by a huge jackalberry tree and furnished with comfy sofas, chairs, tables and a small bar – all with a view to the Kafue River. Below the main deck is the firepit.

Designed as a low impact eco camp, Musekese takes its water from a borehole and uses solar energy for its lighting. The camp is owned and run by two superb guides, Phil and Tyrone, who grew up in Zambia and are passionate about conservation. The guided walking safaris are excellent here as are the 4x4 game drives, while boating safaris on the Kafue River add another interesting dimension to the game-viewing.

We are very fond of Musekese. While it is not a luxury camp, thanks to its choice location it is perfect for those who want simple accommodation surrounded by the sights and sounds of the bush.

Musekese is a 5-hour drive or a short flight (to Lufupa), and is open 01 May – 30 November. For a one-week safari Musekese combines well with its sister camp, Ntemwa, in northern Kafue – open July to end October.
