Macushla House

Macushla House (meaning “my beloved” in Gaelic), is an exclusive guesthouse situated in a quiet suburb of Nairobi.

Macushla House (which means “my beloved” in Gaelic), is an exclusive, private guest house set amongst tranquil gardens on the outskirts of Nairobi National Park.

Located just outside the busy centre of Nairobi, Macushla House is the definition of an urban retreat. Guests can choose to while away the day in the garden pool, or relax in the cosy lounge by an open fire.

Macushla House is a good base from which to explore Nairobi and the nearby game reserves (the house is also within close proximity of the Giraffe centre and the Elephant orphanage). It's one of the more pleasant guesthouses in the Nairobi region, though it doesn't offer the same level of luxury as Giraffe Manor or House of Waine.

Accommodation

There are only 6 bedrooms at Macushla House, which helps ensure a quiet and tranquil atmosphere. All rooms are en-suite and well appointed, and feature original furniture. The overall tone is not as formal as some of Nairobi's older country retreats. The atmosphere at this owner-run guesthouse is decidedly relaxed.

Dining

Macushla House has an intimate bar and dining room. Light lunches are served by the pool or on the terrace. Evening meals can be arranged on request, but the guesthouse is typically booked on a B&B basis.
