Lake Manze Tented Camp

Lake Manze Tented Camp is a charming bush camp with a lovely atmosphere and comfortable, if simple, tented accommodation. It offers wonderful game-viewing from its position on the banks of the lake, right in the heart of the Selous.

Lake Manze Tented Camp is situated on the banks of Lake Manze, in the Selous Game Reserve, the largest reserve in Africa. This location is a blessing, as the Lake Manze area is rich in game and can be visited during both the dry and wet seasons.

From within the camp you’ll be able to observe families of hippos, sunbathing crocodiles, herds of elephant, herons and other game, while 4x4 and boat safaris will give you a chance to see a great deal more.

Lake Manze is a relaxed camp, with an informal atmosphere and fairly simple "bush safari" accommodation. It offers the expected basic comforts, but it is not a luxury camp. However, its superb location and pleasant atmosphere make it easy to recommend. Game-viewing from Lake Manze is always superb.

Lake Manze Tented Camp is reasonably small, with only 12 tents, all of them nestled under Doum palms and Terminalia.

Each of the tents is spacious and fully-furnished with either twin or double beds, a comfortable verandah from which you can watch the wildlife pass by, and an en suite bathroom with flush toilet and skylight shower with hot and cold water.

The tents are well spread out so as to ensure privacy, and all have enjoy views of the lake (the dense vegetation means that the views are for the most part obscured).

Meals are served communally in the thatched dining area, overlooking the lake. Evening meals are sometimes served outside around the campfire, under the watch of Masaai askari. The menus varied and plentiful. There's a well-stocked bar.

Child Policy

Children over the age of six can be accommodated at Lake Manze Tented Camp. The camp has a very relaxed atmosphere and is a good fit for families, but do keep in mind that the camp is entirely open and located close to the Lake, with the result that a great deal of game passes through.
