La Plume

La Plume is a charming, owner-managed early 20th-century homestead set on a working ostrich, alfalfa and wine farm. It enjoys a tranquil location in the Klein Karoo, with stunning views of the Swartberg Mountains.

Just outside Oudtshoorn, in the heart of the Klein Karoo, lies the picturesque La Plume, a charming owner-run Victorian homestead set on a working ostrich, alfalfa and wine farm. The farm enjoys a tranquil location in this scenically-rich area, with striking views of the Swartberg Mountains and the Olifants River.

Each of La Plume's 10 bedrooms has a unique sense of style and design. In keeping with the age of the house (1902), the rooms are furnished in a 19th-century aesthetic, with antique furniture and ornate features. A luxury honeymoon room is also available. There's a three-bedroom cottage with two bathrooms that is ideal for families.

La Plume is booked on a B&B basis. A full-English breakfast is served each morning to begin the day. La Plume's restaurant offers excellent dinners but tables must be pre-booked. Picnics can be arranged for excursions.
