Kwafubesi Tented Safari Camp

Mabula Game Reserve, South Africa

Kwafubesi Tented Safari Camp

Kwafubesi is a classic East African-style tented safari camp, located in the small, private game reserve of Mabula. It accommodates just ten guests in its five luxury tents.

Kwafubesi is a classic tented safari camp located in the 30,000 acre Mabula Game Reserve, approx. two hours from Gauteng. Small and intimate, Kwafubesi accommodates just ten guests in its five luxury tents, which are discreetly tucked away under a canopy of trees on the edge of the Mvubu Plains.

Mabula is a small but impressive game reserve, home to all of the Big 5 (elephant, lion, buffalo, rhinoceros and leopard), and, we shouldn't forget, also the 'Little 5' (ant lion, buffalo weaver, leopard tortoise, rhino beetle and elephant shrew)! It's malaria-free, making it ideal for families travelling with young children, and relatively quiet, being removed from the standard safari routes.

Accommodation

Kwafubesi has just five tents, spread along the edge of the Mvubu Plains so as to ensure every guest a good level of privacy. The tents are classic, East African-style safari tents. They're very spacious inside, and generously furnished with full-size beds, canvas chairs, and romantic lanterns. The bathrooms feature sturdy stone baths and outdoor shower units.

There is no electricity at Kwafubesi.

Dining

At Kwafubesi meals are generally served in the open dining area – meal times are flexible. Romantic dinners served in the open bush or next to a waterhole, prepared on an open fire in true South African style, are a special highlight. Alternately, you can dine in seclusion on your own private deck.
