Kinondo Kwetu

Kinondo Kwetu

Kinondo Kwetu is a secluded luxury retreat on Kenya's southern coastline, not far from Mombasa, with room for no more than 38 guests.

Kinondo Kwetu is situated on a stunning Indian Ocean beach on the southern coast of Kenya, about 1½ hours south of Mombasa. With only 16 rooms and space for no more than 38 guests, this secluded luxury retreat is perfect for honeymooners.

Kinondo Kwetu contains within its grounds two swimming pools, a horse stable, tennis court, library and lounge, while on the ocean, Kinondo Kwetu’s outriggers and dhow boats are always waiting to take you sailing!

Kinondo Kwetu is a beautiful lodge with a welcoming, tranquil atmosphere. There are lots of spots where you can find peace and seclusion; in the lodge's airy living room, in one of the watch towers, where you can watch the sun set over the sea, on a cliff overlooking the ocean, or on the long stretch of white-sand beach that's only a few steps away from your room.

Accommodation

There are 16 rooms at Kinondu Kwetu, split across the original residence (Mama Tia Villa), a beach cottage, and five separate garden cottages. Two of the rooms are family suites accommodating up to five.

Each of the rooms at Kinondo Kwetu has been individually decorated and has its own distinctive character. They are spacious and comfortably furnished. The amenities do vary, however. The Garden Rooms, for instance, lack air-conditioning, and are instead fan-cooled.

Dining

Kinondo Kwetu is booked on a full-board basis. The menus are set, and served in different venues. Three-course lunches are typically served at tables on the beach, or sometimes in the garden, dinners may be taken in the main house, or privately on the beach.

The menus focus on local fare, seafood and a selection of international dishes.
