Honeyguide Mantobeni Tented Safari Camp

Situated on the border of the Kruger National Park, this 12 tent camp is nestled in a Tamboti grove overlooking a dry river line.

Honeyguide Mantobeni is located in the Manyeleti Private Game Reserve, on the border with Kruger National Park, where it nestles in a grove of Tamboti trees overlooking a dry river.

At heart, Mantobeni is a traditional, 'colonial' style safari camp, consisting of 12 tented rooms in a secluded bush setting. The public areas stand out, however, for being a little different. The main building at Mantobeni is a large, almost modernist square building, which opens onto a pool deck. Inside there's a substantial open-air sitting area and bar, and a climate-controlled wine cellar.

Honeyguide Mantobeni is one of two camps in the Manyeleti Reserve, the other being Khoka Moya Camp. Both are run by the same company. Game-viewing at the reserve is generally very good, and much better than it used to be (it was previously a fenced reserve, but with the removal of the fences some years ago there's a good deal of movement of game between the reserve and the Kruger). Walking safaris are offered as well as game drives.

The twelve tents at Honeyguide Mantobeni are generous in their size and their furnishings—large king-size beds, leather seats and couch, bathroom en-suite with bathtub and shower.
