Enkewa Camp

Enkewa Camp is a luxury tented camp that enjoys a prime location in the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Enkewa Camp enjoys a superb location within the main Masai Mara National Reserve. Located in the south-east of the reserve, close to the Tanzania border, the camp has direct access to the Sand River and is especially well-placed for viewing the migration herds during the peak migration months (typically Aug-Oct).

Enkewa is a small, owner-run camp, accommodating approx. 20 guests in 9 tented rooms, of which 1 is a family tent. It is priced more modestly than many similar luxury camps in the main Mara Reserve, making it a great option for travellers wanting to access the heart of the Mara on a mid-range budget (though rates increase notably during peak season, as for all camps in this region!)

Accommodation

Enkewa Camp accommodates its guests in rectangular Meru tents, which are spacious inside and furnished with a mixture of modern and traditional African furnishings. This is very much a classic East African-style safari camp in style, but with some more modern trappings.

The tents feature large, spacious interiors, and open onto a private sitting area. At the back of each tent is an en-suite bathroom with flush loo and shower.

Enkewa offers one family tent, with a twin and double tented room set either side of a shared living area.

Dining

Enkewa has a lovely open-air mess tent that serves as the venue for breakfasts and dinners (lunches will just as often be enjoyed in the Mara while out on game drives!) The dining area is set up with private tables rather than a communal table, though the mess tent can be configured for shared dining where preferred. Separate to the dining tent is a cosy lounge and bar area.

Enkewa is full-board basis with local drinks included (premium drinks and imports are additional).

Activities

4x4 game drives in the Masai Mara
Hot air balloon safaris (at additional cost and should ideally be pre-booked, especially during migration season)
Masai village visit

Child Policy

Enkewa Camp accommodates children of all ages, though given the location of the camp, its small-size and the fact that it is unfenced, we would generally recommend Enkewa to families travelling with older children.

There is one family tent with two separate bedrooms and a shared living area able to accommodate families of up to 5.
