David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa

David Livingstone Safari Lodge is a comfortable, four-star hotel located on the banks of the Zambezi River. Opened in 2008, it has the advantage of one of the better locations in the area.

David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa is a comfortable, 4-star lodge situated just seven kms from Victoria Falls, one of the natural wonders of the world. It's a medium-sized hotel with 77 rooms, all built of wood and thatch and decorated in 'colonial' style. Livingstone Safari Lodge's main asset, however, is its superb location on the banks of the Zambezi River, close to the Falls - the perfect spot for a quintessential African sundowner, which can be enjoyed either on the pool deck or from the comfort of your room's private balcony.

David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa is one of the best hotels in the Victoria Falls area. Those seeking peace and quiet may prefer a smaller hotel, but Livingstone Safari Lodge boasts a fantastic range of facilities, including a pool, bar and restaurant, spa, internet centre, and shuttle service between the hotel and the main sites in and around Livingstone. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and generously furnished, and the service is consistently good.

David Livingstone Safari Lodge attracts a large number of groups – both business groups and those on package tours. This is typical of most of the large hotels in and around Livingstone, but not of the smaller lodges such as Tongabezi and Siankaba, which are perhaps better suited to couples and honeymooners.

Accommodation

David Livingstone Safari Lodge has 72 rooms, all en-suite and with satellite TV, internet access, air-con, and tea/coffee facilities. Additional to these are five loft suites, which have the advantage of a private jacuzzi, separate lounge, and enormous bedrooms. The suites are beautiful, but come at a price.

All of the rooms have balconies overlooking the Zambezi.

Dining

There's a selection of dining venues at Livingstone Safari Lodge: in the indoor restaurant, Kalai; outdoors on the pool deck or the terrace; or on the Lady Livingstone, the Livingstone Lodge's own private cruise ship offering dinner cruises each evening. Breakfast and dinner are buffet-style, lunch is à la carte.
