Couleur Cafe

Antsirabe, Madagascar

Couleur Cafe

Couleur Café is a charming boutique hotel situated just outside Antsirabe town centre.

Couleur Café is a gorgeous boutique-style hotel tucked away in a quiet oasis in Antsirabe, just 500 metres from the busy town centre and along the famous N7 road.

Couleur Café offers delightful chalets built of bricks, tiles and wood. The rooms have high ceilings and are light, bright and airy; each has en-suite bathroom facilities. The chalets are spaced around the colourful gardens and offer a good level of privacy. The main lodge houses the dining room, bar, lounge and a small gift shop.

Couleur Café is a charming 'home away from home' hotel where comfort and relaxation are the order of the day and the attention to detail is first class. It is one of our favourite hotels in Madagascar - unique and welcoming.

Accommodation

Couleur Café's 15 en-suite villas come as doubles, twins or family rooms. There is one suite which is larger and equipped with a fireplace. Each villa has its own unique decor and layout, but all of them showcase local crafts and Malagasy materials. The rooms are very spacious.

Dining

A hearty breakfast is served in the garden when the weather permits or else in the dining room. Choose from various breads baked in a wood-fire oven, homemade jams, salad and freshly squeezed seasonal fruits.

The chef at Couleur Café prepares two dinner menus each evening for you to choose from, combining both Malagasy and French cuisines. Zebu, duck and tilapia are cooked with local spices of vanilla, cinnamon and pink pepper, and served with sweet potatoes, red rice, and vegetables.

Activities

Ansirabe is often a stopping-off point on journeys to the south of the island. However it's worth staying longer if you have the time as there are several things to see and enjoy in the town. Ansirabe is particularly well known for its gems and semi-precious stones so take the time to visit one of the local lapidaries. You will also see many pousse pousse (rickshaws) around town and you can visit a workshop which makes these iconic vehicles. You may like to drive to Andraikiba Lake which is located about half an hour from town.

Child Policy

Couleur Café accepts young children.
