The Blue Nile Resort (almost known as Avanti Hotel & Resort) is a comfortable resort hotel situated on the shores of Lake Tana, within Bahir Dar. One of the few international-standard hotels in the region, it serves as a good base for exploring the Blue Nile Falls and Lake Tana monasteries.
The Blue Nile Resort is situated on the southern shore of Lake Tana, and within easy reach of Bahir Dar's lively market, as well as several of the city's best restaurants. Most of the Blue Nile's 135 rooms enjoy a view of the lake. Immediately in front of the hotel and on the shores of the lake is a pleasant lawn and garden area.
Accommodation
The Blue Nile Hotel offers 135 double/twin en-suite rooms. All are equipped with satellite TV, minibar, and wired/Wi-Fi internet connection (intermittent). The standard rooms are small and contained. Junior and Deluxe suites offer more space, set on two floors with separate upstairs bedroom area and a downstairs lounge that opens out onto a balcony overlooking the lake. Room-length windows on the ground floor and upper floor allow in lots of light.

Dining
Breakfast is served buffet style in the main restaurant. The lunch and dinner menu is a mix of Ethiopian and international cuisine, with dinner usually served buffet style.
Blue Nile Resort's dinner buffet is very mixed; the hotel is best booked B&B basis allowing you to dine out. Nearby restaurants include Lakeshore, Dessett and Misrak.
