Belvidere Manor is a wonderful Georgian-style manor house that dates back to the early 19th century, and which has undergone extensive renovations to become a luxury boutique hotel. Located in Belvidere, in the Knysna district of the Garden Route, Belvidere Manor acts as a perfect springboard from which to explore the many attractions Knysna has to offer, such as the Knysna Heads and Knysna Forest.
Accommodation
Belvidere Manor provides 34 private cottages (either single or double storey), all with a view of the Knysna lagoon or the manor gardens. Each cottage has a wide verandah, an airy living room with comfortable sofas, fireplace, ceiling fans, satellite television and DVD player, a fully equipped kitchen, and one, two or three en-suite double bedrooms. They are fully serviced.
Dining
Dine indoors in the dining room or outside on the veranda when weather permits. There's an emphasis on local specialties, including the oysters that Knysna is famous for.
In addition to the main restaurant, the Bell Tavern is a small, intimate pub housed on the site of the original Belvidere farmhouse. Pub meals are served outside in the summer, and inside during the winter with a wood-burning stove in place to keep you cosy!
