Chindeni Bushcamp

South Luangwa, Zambia

Chindeni Bushcamp

Chindeni enjoys an enviable position on the banks of the Luangwa River, where it overlooks a busy lagoon from under a canopy of giant ebony trees.

The Bushcamp Company runs six specialist safari camps in one of Africa's most beautiful wilderness areas, the South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. It was here that the walking safari was first pioneered, and the emphasis at each of the bush camps is very much on experiencing the African wilderness up close and on foot.

Located a short distance from Bilimungwe and Chamilandu Camps, Chindeni boasts a prime location on the edge of the Luangwa River, from where it overlooks a busy ox-bow lagoon. Giant ebony trees shade the camp and its tented rooms, while the raised wooden walkways provide a superb vantage point overlooking the river and, in the distance, the Chindeni Hills.

Chindeni Bushcamp is open May to December. The Bushcamp Company's other camps in the South Luangwa include BilimungweKapamba, Chamilandu, Zungulila and Kuyenda.

There are just four rooms at Chindeni Camp, all set on raised wooden decking which opens onto a private verandah with a view of the lagoon. The spacious rooms are tented rather than thatched, and generously furnished with full-size beds, cosy sitting areas, and spacious bathrooms.

Freshly prepared meals are served in the shaded dining area overlooking the lagoon or in the privacy of your room.
