Tanzania and Zanzibar are, on the whole, remarkably peaceful destinations, with attacks on tourists very rare, and attacks of the kind described unheard of.<\/p>\n<p>Following news of the attacks, Jeremy Gane was invited to interview on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/programmes\/b037v2v4\">BBC Radio 5 Live<\/a> (interview at 6:18 mins) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/programmes\/p01d449g\">BBC Radio West Midlands<\/a> (interview at 51:45). Here he discusses Zanzibar&#8217;s history, it&#8217;s Swahili culture, and the impact of tourism more generally.
