KwaZulu Natal is a real cultural hotspot with European, Indian & African influences found from the streets of Durban to the great northern game reserves. It is one of the largest provinces in South Africa and has a great deal to see.
Geographically, KwaZulu Natal is extremely diverse, bordered by the Drakensberg Mountains to the west and the warm Indian Ocean to the east. The region is scattered with battle sights, recalling the Anglo-Zulu and Boer Wars, and the Zulu culture still lives on in Zulu country.
To the north is Maputaland, a beautiful region with expansive lakes, lagoons and a number of game reserves.

To the north east Durban offers beautiful beaches and a variety of restaurants and bars.
The KwaZulu Midlands is known for its quaint towns, lush green hills and country pubs. Nearby is the stunning Drakensberg Mountains range, the highest in South Africa. Here you can go pony trekking, hiking or fly fishing.
Isandlwana, Rorkes Drift and Ulundi are some of the most famous of the battle sites. Cross the Tugela River to the northeast and you are in Zulu country, stay a night at one of the cultural villages where you will learn more about this proud nation.
Maputaland is home to the Hluhluwe- Umfolozi National Park and the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park as well as numerous game reserves. The nearby Rocktail Bay and Sodwana Bay offer excellent scuba diving. Your journey will not be complete until you have stayed a night on a houseboat on Lake Jozini.
