Mozambique:
Maputo

Maputo, Mozambique’s busy capital, is a vibrant city packed with interesting architecture, bustling street marks, excellent Afro-Portuguese cuisine and a lively population.

The city revolves around the large and busy harbour and business district. Nightlife is active and there are many excellent restaurants, although the city can be rather expensive in places. The city is located right on the coast.

Maputo is mainly treated as a stop-off point for those travelling to and from Mozambique’s more popular island destinations. A ferry service runs daily to Inhaca Island.

In and around Maputo
Not far from the city are a number of reserves including the Maputo Elephant Reserve.  Many of the surrounding islands are easily accessible from Maputo.
