Sanbona Wildlife Reserve
(Little Karoo - South Africa)
General Description
Sanbona is a newly created nature reserve and spa lodge in the Klein Karoo, situated between Cape Town and the Garden Route. Comprising an area of 54,000 hectares, Sanbona is home to undulating mountains and plains, indigenous wild flowers and San rock art. With the arrival of elephant, buffalo, black rhino, cheetah and a male and famale white lion, Sanbona is now home to the Big 5. There is also a raptor breeding centre.
The main lodge, Tilney Manor, is an idyllic summer house, beautifully built with wrap around verandahs, high lime washed ceilings and exposed beams.
Accommodation
There are two lodges - Tilney Manor and Khani Lodge. Tilney Manor has 6 luxuriously appointed rooms offering comfortable lounges with fireplaces, private verandahs, freestanding baths and outdoor showers. Khanni has four spacious suites tucked away in a valley overlooking a watering hole.
