Samburu Intrepids

(Samburu and Shaba National Parks - Kenya)

General Description
Perched on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River in the heart of Samburu National Reserve, Samburu Intrepids enjoys a unique perspective of one of Africa’s most celebrated wildernesses.

Because of the warm climate, Samburu Intrepids’ public areas are all palm-thatched and open to the elements, and raised on stilts to catch the cooling breeze blowing off the river. There is a large dining area with outdoor terrace, a lounge and bar area and a freeform swimming pool.

The camp’s location deep inside the reserve guarantees close encounters with the region’s wildlife, including elephant, lion, leopard, and Samburu’s famous ‘unique five’ - the rare reticulated giraffe, long-necked gerenuk antelope, Somali ostrich, Grevy’s zebra, and majestic Beisa Oryx. Game drives and walking safaris are well-conducted with knowledgeable guides.

Accommodation
The camp consists of 27 spacious tents with en-suite bathrooms. The interiors are a picture of elegance, with giant four-poster beds and handsome mahogany furniture.

Dining
Samburu Intrepids has replaced the traditional camp buffet with a range of wholesome dishes, made to guest orders and served with homemade breads, succulent salads, delightful desserts and the finest of wines.
