Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge
(Volcanoes National Park - Rwanda)
General Description
Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge is situated in the foothills of the Virunga’s, a chain of 15,000ft volcanoes stretching through Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The lodge itself is set approximately 1km from the Park boundary on the gentle foothills of Sabyinyo, one of the most impressive of the five volcanoes visible from the site. From the Lodge guests have magnificent views to the verdant slopes of the Vicuña Volcanoes to the North and over the agricultural lowlands to the South.
The lodge consists of a central building, with reception, bar, dining room, library/games room, community awareness centre, client washrooms and shop. Both the bar and dining room have extensive outdoor decks from which guests can enjoy the spectacular views.
Sabinyo Silverback Lodge is a comfortable 2-hour drive from central Kigali.
Accommodation
Accommodation consists of 2 guest suites, 5 cottages and one family complex. All guest rooms and suites are individual cottages carefully positioned discretely and privately in the folds of the hill to take full advantage of the wonderful views. The guest cottages all consist of a sitting room, fire place, dressing room, verandah, and a large bathroom with bath, shower and all modern amenities.
The lodge will accommodate 16 – 20 clients.
Dining
Contained within the main lodge building, the bar and restaurants have fireplaces to warm them during cold weather, and outside decks for alfresco drinks and meals during warm weather. Picnics can be arranged on request.

Child Policy
Children are welcome. There is a family cottage especially designed to cater for them. Please note that children under the age of 15 are not permitted to visit the gorillas.

The lodge is involved in a number of community projects and conservation projects to help the local community and environment.
