General Description

Rekero Tented Camp is situated in the midst of the Mara Serengeti Ecosystem, home to the greatest concentration and diversity of wildlife in the world. Rekero offers old time hospitality and a unique insight into the Masaai Mara's wildlife, culture, flora and fauna.

Rekero's tented camp is located very close to the confluence of the Mara and Talek rivers. This seasonal Eco-camp is ideally situated for the annual migration, the movement of over one million wildebeest and two hundred thousand zebra from the Serengeti through the Masaai Mara.
The Camp is set up seasonally (June - October, December - March) and caters for up to eighteen guests. Gerard Beaton along with his partner Jackson Ole Looseyia own and host this unique camp. Their team of professional Masaai guides and camp crew have worked together for years, providing guests with a truly memorable experience.

Accommodation

Eight spacious tents, one family tent and seven tents able to accommodate twins/doubles or triples. All the tents have en-suite facilities with flush loos and safari showers.

Dining and Food

The safari chefs produce delicious 'farmhouse' meals, which utilise skillful blends of flavours and cuisine from both East and West. Special dietary requirements can be catered for with advanced warning.

Activities

Wildlife viewing and bird watching can be done on foot with experienced guides, or in custom-built vehicles which allow intimate yet unobtrusive access to the wildlife. Jackson Looseyia is well known to ‘Big Cat Diary’ viewers and this is his back yard. A visit to one of the guides village can be arranged, walking can also be prearranged in an area outside the reserve. Picnics in the bush and sun downers also feature. Trips on a hot air balloon can be organized at an additional cost.
