Palmvag Lodge
(Damaraland and Kaokoland - Namibia)
General Description
Palmwag Lodge is located in a beautiful spot overlooking marsh, plains and mountains, a paradise on the Uniab River in northwest Damaraland. This large property is set in spectacular surroundings and harbours the famous desert elephant and the rare black rhino as well as giraffe, zebra, gemsbok and many other species. Palmwag Lodge offers a fully licensed restaurant, two swimming pools - one under shady palms, and a very cozy pool bar and lapa.
This is an excellent place in which to see Rhino, the Save The Rhino organization is based here.
Accommodation
The lodge offers 15 two/three bed thatched bungalows, five luxury en-suite tents and an eight bed family unit. The standard cottages are located in the main area while the luxury tents are a few minutes’ walk away and therefore a little more private. The suites are large meru tents with a great view from the balcony and en-suite facilities at the rear.
Dining and Food
The large dining room has a bar and a spacious deck where you can enjoy a sundowner and appreciate the sunsets at the end of the day. The attractive thatched pool bar, situated under palm trees, offers light meals and drinks late into the evening.

There are quite a range of activities available which include daily morning and afternoon game drives as well as full day excursions. The well laid-out hiking trails let you enjoy and discover the neighbouring nature. Sleep outs are also possible.
