Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge
(Kruger National Park - South Africa)
General Description
Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge is a 4 star private safari camp. With only six African rondavels and two Family Lodges, Mohlabetsi offers the luxury of a small and intimate retreat. The lodge is newly renovated and offers a wonderful base for your safari.
Mohlabetsi is nestled under age-old trees with a view over the bush and onto a well-frequented waterhole. The shady lawns, with chaise lounges, create a wonderful scene of tranquility. The entrance is a thatched portico leading onto a lounge, bar and dining area. There is also a boma in a reeded enclosure with a crackling log fire, where sumptuous dinners are served.
Accommodation
All rondavels are tastefully appointed. Each is en-suite with outdoor shower. The rooms are fully equipped with amenities and toiletries as well as hairdryers and personal safes. The windows and entrance are insect-proof and there is a ceiling fan for those warm summer nights. There are four twin bedded rondavels and two with a king size bed. It is also possible to place a small sleeper bed in the room for a young child.
The Family Lodges offer superb comfort for small parties. Each Lodge has two rooms with an inter-leading door for privacy. One room has a Queen bed and the other has two single beds - it is possible to add a sleeper bed too, thereby accommodating five guests. Each room has its own facilities and al fresco shower. The Lodges are equipped similarly to the Rondavels.
Dining
Meals are a culinary delight! Romantic dinners are served around the fire in the reeded boma or on the lawn under the stars. Fresh local ingredients are used and many of the condiments and herbs used are produced at the Lodge. The accent is on typical South African country fare, with dishes to suit all palates. Special requests are handled with pleasure.
