General Description

This region provides the perfect setting, a wilderness area where a community lives in harmony with nature and wildlife. The magnificent Khwai River is at the heart of some of the most outstanding wildlife viewing in the Moremi and Khwai areas. The Camp has been designed for the luxury guest who is seeking the real African experience in a simple yet understated tent. The style of the camp is East African Meru tents, as they were when the original explorers moved through the African wilderness.
This is a community project so a percentage of all proceeds from tourism go directly to helping local people and local projects through the Khwai Community Trust.

Accommodation

Khwai Tented Camp is a small tented camp which consists of four spacious luxury semi-permanent ‘Hemingway-style' canvas tents. The camp has been designed in the style of a mobile camp with the added bonus of private facilities and flush toilets! Experienced camp staff is available to see to your every need and ensure a comfortable stay.

The camp is essentially a mobile camp, there are no permanent structures and the whole camp can be removed with little or no impact to the environment.

Dining and Food

Before a light breakfast, wash basins are placed outside your tent and filled with hot water to freshen up before you begin another day of adventure. After a morning’s activity you will enjoy an excellent brunch, then afternoon tea is served before another activity. Cold drinks and snacks by the campfire precede a delicious dinner.

Activities

Activities available include game drives, guided walks and night drives, village visits to the Khwai Community and day trips to Moremi Game Reserve.
