Kanana Camp

(Okavango Delta - Botswana)

General Description

Kanana is a hidden jewel set on the Xudum River in the southwest region of the Okavango Delta. Located on a private concession, guided walks are possible. The area encompasses a chain of islands dotted with palms, figs, ebony and knobthorn, and is home to countless birds, plants and animals. Dependent on the annual floods, the level of water transforms this dry camp into a true water experience. A fire is lit every evening on the deck which is suspended over the river, a great place to enjoy a nightcap.

Accommodation

At Kanana guests are accommodated in eight spacious, twin-bedded safari units, set on raised teak decks, offering breathtaking views across the waterways. All tents offer en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, shower and flush toilet. The tents are well spaced affording privacy, whilst still being within comfortable distance from the central area.

Dining and Food

The spacious central area has been attractively built around the trunk of an ancient fig tree. Relax in the lounge with a drink then enjoy dining with your fellow guests at the long table.  The meals are delicious and served by friendly staff.
