Jacks Camp
(Makgadikgadi and Central Kalahari - Botswana)
General Description
Jack’s Camp is a traditional East African 1940's style safari camp, situated on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pan, a once great inland sea, and now a bed of desert salt pans the size of Switzerland.
The guides at Jack's Camp will team up with a small group of Zu/’hoasi Bushmen to guide you on morning walks and game drives. A safari at Jack's Camp is a wonderful desert experience, focusing on species unique to the area such as aardvark, gemsbok (oryx) and springbuck. It is the only place where guests are virtually guaranteed to see the rare and elusive brown hyaena and be able to walk through the Kalahari with a gang of habituated meerkats.
Accommodation
Jack's Camp is a classic desert safari camp with 7 Double and 3 twin tents, all with en-suite bathrooms featuring indoor and outdoor showers. The camp is spacious and stylish, with a sophisticated 1940’s safari atmosphere. Persian rugs and cool cotton sheets form a striking contrast with the rugged wilderness viewed from the comfort of one’s own verandah.
The tents are very comfortable and in keeping with the character of the Makgadikgadi.
Dining
Jack’s Camp has a reputation for delicious, fresh and original food. Meals are plated, not
