Huab Lodge

General Description
Situated within the Huab Private Nature Reserve, in the Damaraland region of Namibia, Huab Lodge is a charming settlement, where guests will quickly feel at home. It occupies a wonderful location on the bank of the mainly dry Huab River, an ideal spot for game-viewing.

The main building is an enormous thatch roof with open sides - open to the air but entirely shaded. A permanent coffee and tea bar is laid out. The long dining table and other convenient tables and chairs are made of heavy Rhodesian teak sleepers, and the easy chairs have colourful handmade cushions. Natural rock islands protrude into the area.

Huab Lodge is owned and personally run by Jan and Suzi van de Reep, who are both excellent guides.

Accommodation
The eight stone and thatch spacious bungalows each have a large private patio and are tastefully furnished. They all include a separate en-suite toilet, two hand-wash basins and mirrors, and a shower. Bedrooms boast two king size beds, and have large windows allowing in light and offering a view across the Huab. The stone and thatch bungalows spread along the elevated north bank of the river ensuring a private and magnificent view - even from the shower.

If the stresses of life leave you in need of rejuvenating, the aroma therapist offers reflexology and aromatherapy massages in the privacy of the bungalow or at the thermal spring.

Dining
Home cooked meals are served in the large dining room/lounge with open fireplace. The lodge has an excellent wine cellar.
