Hog Hollow Country House
(Garden Route - South Africa)
General Description
Hog Hollow is set on the edge of an indigenous forest, in a private nature reserve, with views of the surrounding valleys and Tsitsikamma Mountains. This region of the Garden Route is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful parts of Africa.
The main house forms a communal dining area surrounded by a long blue swimming pool that visually flows into the valley below and a boma where nightly fires are lit. Other attractions include a forest sauna and privately sited forest shower with incredible views over the valley.
For the adventurous, Hog Hollow Country House is the perfect base from which to explore and experience numerous adventure activities. Renowned for their personalised service, the lodge staff will assist you with the planning and booking of daily excursions.
Accommodation
The 15 suites all have private decks overlooking forest vistas and offer guests relaxed luxury in an unforgettable setting. King size beds, earthy tones, fireplaces, hammocks and hand-crafted artefacts are just a few of the comfortable touches that welcome guests to their private retreat.
Rooms are fitted with mini bars and mini hi-fis but no TV's or telephones.
Dining
On clear days farmhouse breakfasts are served on the wooden deck overlooking the forest or near the huge fireplace when it’s cooler. In the evenings, guests enjoy dinners around the communal table in the candle-lit atmosphere of the main house. All meals are prepared using fresh local produce. Guests with specific dietary requirements are catered for individually. Children are catered for with special mealtimes and menus.
