General area and lodge description
The Elephant House is an exclusive 9 bed-roomed lodge situated near the Addo Elephant National Park in the fertile sun-drenched Sundays River Valley. With courtyards and deep verandahs the décor evokes colonial and African images and is furnished with antiques, Persian rugs and the owners’ private collection of Africana art.

Qualified guides conduct excellent daily safaris into the Addo Elephant National Park on an open Land Cruiser; other options include cultural, historical and agricultural tours in the valley as well as a helicopter trip to the beach, elephant or horseback safaris and a day visit to one of the private reserves in the area.

Accommodation
Elephant House has 9 spacious fully air-conditioned and heated en suite rooms which open onto courtyards and private verandahs. Room facilities include: Percale linen, telephone, dial-up internet access, hairdryers, bathrobes, room safes and king size bed.

Dining & Food
The kitchen prepares lovely light lunches on the terrace or beside one of the pools. After a sundowner in the evenings, sit down to a delicious three course candlelit dinner (usually served outdoors) prepared using the very best of local produce and fine Cape wines.

The Elephant House is involved in community projects and, with the help of guests, supported and helped with the building of a crèche for Aids orphans in the Langbos and continues to supply food and regular clothes donations.
