Chumbe Island Lodge

Zanzibar Eco-Lodge

Chumbe Island Lodge

Chumbe is a wonderful island resort that is accessible only by boat. A charming eco-lodge, it is located within the Chumbe Island Coral Park, and provides access to some of the most beautiful coral gardens in the world.

Chumbe Island is a beautiful resort located just off the coast of Zanzibar, accessible only by boat. The island is a beautiful blend of white sandy beach, coral sea and coastal forest, and boasts some of the most spectacular ‘coral gardens’ to be found anywhere in the world (see the Chumbe Island Coral Park website for more on the coral gardens).

Chumbe Lodge is a highly exclusive retreat, with only seven bungalows catering for a maximum of 14 guests. The location and limited number of guests makes Chumbe a perfect destination for those just wanting to relax (though the water sports are also excellent, with particularly good opportunities for diving!)

Chumbe is booked on an all-inclusive basis, with meals, drinks and activities included. Boat transfers back and forth to Stone Town are provided to allow you to explore the island.

Accommodation

Accommodation on Chumbe Island is in seven beautiful eco-bungalows, all situated by the sea. The bungalows feature either double or twin bedrooms under makuti-thatch roofs, with en-suite bathrooms and spacious living areas. The décor is a blend of African art and colourful fabrics, with extremely comfortable hammocks!

Dining

Dining takes place in the open-air dining area, which overlooks the sea and Zanzibar island. The meals are generous and delicious - a mixture of Indian and local Zanzibari flavours.
