Explore Peru’s scenic and historical wonders on this 13-day highlights tour, taking in the cosmopolitan cities of Cusco and Lima, the Sacred Valley of the Incas & the lost city of Machu Picchu, and the vast Lake Titicaca.

Outline Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Arrive Lima

    You will be met on arrival at Lima Airport and transferred to your hotel. Overnight Hotel Jose Antonio Deluxe (1 night, B&B basis).

  2. Day 2: Lima city tour

    Embark on a half-day tour of Lima’s city highlights.

  3. Day 3: Fly to Arequipa

    You will be collected from your hotel in Lima after breakfast and transferred to the airport for your flight to Arequipa. On arrival in Arequipa, you will be met and transferred to your hotel, where you will have time to freshen up before departing for your afternoon tour of the White City.

  4. Day 4: Journey to Colca

    The next two days will be spent in the company of other travellers as you join a small group tour onto the high Andean plateau.

  5. Day 5: Colca Canyon to Puno

    An early start this morning takes you to the Colca Valley, where you stop at a viewpoint for the best opportunity to see the great Andean condors in flight.

  6. Day 6: Uros Islands and Taquile Island tour

    This morning you join a group tour for a boat trip on Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake. The scenery here is incredible, with the vast flat waters reflecting the blue sky and surrounding mountains.

  7. Day 7: Bus journey to Cusco

    This morning you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to the bus station. From here you take a tourist bus to Cusco.

  8. Day 8: Half day city tour of Cusco

    After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a half day city tour of Cusco. You will visit the Santo Domingo church, built on the foundations of the Inca temple Koricancha, which was dedicated to Sun worship.

  9. Day 9: Sacred Valley

    Today will be spent exploring a selection of the most historically interesting and scenic spots in the Sacred Valley.

  10. Day 10: Machu Picchu

    After breakfast you’ll be driven to Ollantaytambo, where you will board the Vistadome train for an amazing journey to the famous Incan citadel of Machu Picchu.

  11. Day 11: Machu Picchu revisit, Cusco

    This morning you will have another visit to Machu Picchu, this time unguided, so you can explore at your leisure. Perhaps you may want to hike up to Intipunku or the Sun Gate. This is the last point of the Inca Trail before reaching the citadel – expect to bump into hikers eager for their first glimpse of Machu Picchu!

  12. Day 12: Free day in Cusco

    Today has been left free. You may choose to go souvenir shopping in the markets, take a cookery class so you can recreate some of those fantastic Peruvian dishes at home, or perhaps have a leisurely day soaking up the hustle and bustle of Cusco’s lively main plaza.

  13. Day 13: Departure

    At leisure until your scheduled transfer to the airport in time for your homeward flight.
